Corporate Social Responsibility and Business Ethics

General Description

Although not new in the developed part of the world, the concepts of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and ethical leadership are making first steps in gaining popularity in developing countries, with Armenia being not an exception. Nowadays many Armenians can hardly explain what constitutes to be a good corporate citizen, which is quite often confused with engaging in charitable activities. It is obvious that any for-profit entity is mainly concerned with earning and accumulating wealth, but the current worldwide trend is that this is not the only determinant of their existence and long-term success. More and more businesses realize that they do not operate in a vacuum; continuous interaction with different stakeholders is critical, with serious considerations for the environment, economically vulnerable populations, and the society as a whole.

In light of the above, it is therefore paramount to raise ethical competence and integrity standards of local managers for them to succeed in today's competitive and highly demanding world. With this in mind, the given training is aimed at familiarizing the audience with the theoretical framework for corporate social responsibility and business ethics, addressing the issues of its practical application, and exploring its contributions and limitations to the society.

General Description

This seminar is addressed to the representatives of non-profit, state and business organizations, who would like to learn about the concept of corporate social responsibility (CSR) and the possibilities it provides to social sector.

The following topics are covered by the seminar:

  • Contemporary approaches of CRS,
  • Social responsibility as an effective tool of business management,
  • Corporate, non-profit and state sector collaboration in the framework of CSR,
  • Ways of CSR promotion.

The seminar is conducted through presentation of best practices in CSR, results of research in the field and case-studies.

The leading expert is Narine Melikyan, PhD in Economics, graduated from Yerevan Institute of National Economy, Moscow Slavonic Business Institute, trained in US, Russia, Greece, Spain. Narine is the author of several economic handbooks, involved as an expert in various research projects, is a lecturer on “Corporate behaviour and leadership” course in Armenian-Russian Slavonic University. The language of the seminar is Armenian.

Location and Dates

The seminar will take place on December 8-9, 15.30 to 19.30 at Civic Development and Partnership Foundation (CDPF) office, at 11/5 Proshian Street, Yerevan.

Registration Cost and Procedure

The seminar participation fee is 26800 AMD for a person. The fee includes cost of handouts and coffee breaks.

Participants of the promotional session will get 10% discount for the seminar.
