CDPF is 5 years old

On March 4, 2011 Civic Development and Partnership Foundation (CDPF) celebrated its 5th anniversary.

Although 5 years is not a long period of time for an organization, it is enough to prove that hard work and endless enthusiasm can contribute to positive change in society and establishment of our organization's good reputation and trustworthiness.

Over the 5 years, we have implemented over 15 projects, distributed and administered 77 advocacy and election grants, awarded and monitored 86 scholarships, provided 136 training courses and consultations to local and international organizations, carried out 5 analytical research projects, as well as conducted 47 OD assessments. All these certainly are important achievements that give birth to further successes.

CDPF anniversaryMore than 50 representatives from local and international organizations, and state bodies came to share in our accomplishments and joy. Among them, Mr. Stephen Brager, Director of USAID Democracy and Governance Office, and Ms. Anahit Martirosyan, USAID Project Management Specialist; OSCE Ambassador H.E. Sergey Kapinos, and Mr. William Hanlon, OSCE Economic and Environmental Officer; Mr. Karen Hakobyan, Head of the Department of Legislation Analysis and Improvement at the RA Ministry of Justice; Ms. Liana Sahakyan, US Embassy Grants Manager; Mr. Francois Vezina, MAAC Chief of Party; and many others.

At the beginning of the event CDPF Board Chairman Mr. Vahan Bournazian and CDPF Director Mr. David Chityan thanked the guest for attending, stating that CDPF achievements wouldn’t have been possible without great support from its partners and volunteers. Appreciation Certificates were presented to Counterpart International and CDPF former staff members for their outstanding organizational and personal CDPF anniversarycontribution to the success of CDPF. Also the latest printed materials were presented and distributed to the guests.

As a memory keepsake of the anniversary, and to give the guests an opportunity to share their visions, a jigsaw puzzle imprinted with the CDPF logo was prepared. Guests were asked to write their wishes on the individual puzzle pieces. When assembled, the pieces of the puzzle bore witness to the true sincerity with which the guests value the future of CDPF. And we place great importance on each word, as these visions will help to makes us more responsive in our future activities as we continue forward, remaining faithful to the CDPF mission and objectives.
