Corporate Social Responsibility and Business Ethics

General Description

Although not new in the developed part of the world, the concepts of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and ethical leadership are making first steps in gaining popularity in developing countries, with Armenia being not an exception. Nowadays many Armenians can hardly explain what constitutes to be a good corporate citizen, which is quite often confused with engaging in charitable activities. It is obvious that any for-profit entity is mainly concerned with earning and accumulating wealth, but the current worldwide trend is that this is not the only determinant of their existence and long-term success. More and more businesses realize that they do not operate in a vacuum; continuous interaction with different stakeholders is critical, with serious considerations for the environment, economically vulnerable populations, and the society as a whole.

In light of the above, it is therefore paramount to raise ethical competence and integrity standards of local managers for them to succeed in today's competitive and highly demanding world. With this in mind, the given training is aimed at familiarizing the audience with the theoretical framework for corporate social responsibility and business ethics, addressing the issues of its practical application, and exploring its contributions and limitations to the society.

Organizational Development Training

About Training

The training is addressed to the heads and representative of youth branches of national minority NGOs (up to two persons from each organization) who would like to improve their knowledge and skills in organizational development.

The training covers the following topics:

  • Basics of Organizational Development
  • Project Design and Implementation
  • Financial Sustainability Planning
  • Social Entrepreneurship
  • Fundraising
  • Community Development

Certificates of participation will be awarded to the participants of the training.

Duration and Place

The training will be held on May 31-June 1, June 6-8 (5 days in total), from 10.00 to 17.00 in Yerevan.

The training will be held in Armenian with simultaneous Armenian-Russian interpretation.. Those participants who would need Russian interpretation are requested to make a note in the Application Form. Coffee and lunch will be provided.

Application Procedure

Please fill in the Application Form and send to training@cdpf.am or deliver in hard copy to OSCE Office in Yerevan located at Sundukyan 64/1, Yerevan, by May 20, 2013.

The Applications of youth branch representatives of organizations should be accompanied with a support letter from the head of organization.

The places are limited, thus, in case of large number of applications, preference will be given to earlier and complete Applications. All the applicants will notified about confirmation of their participation as well as information about training venue by May 29.
