Corporate Social Responsibility and Business Ethics

General Description

Although not new in the developed part of the world, the concepts of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and ethical leadership are making first steps in gaining popularity in developing countries, with Armenia being not an exception. Nowadays many Armenians can hardly explain what constitutes to be a good corporate citizen, which is quite often confused with engaging in charitable activities. It is obvious that any for-profit entity is mainly concerned with earning and accumulating wealth, but the current worldwide trend is that this is not the only determinant of their existence and long-term success. More and more businesses realize that they do not operate in a vacuum; continuous interaction with different stakeholders is critical, with serious considerations for the environment, economically vulnerable populations, and the society as a whole.

In light of the above, it is therefore paramount to raise ethical competence and integrity standards of local managers for them to succeed in today's competitive and highly demanding world. With this in mind, the given training is aimed at familiarizing the audience with the theoretical framework for corporate social responsibility and business ethics, addressing the issues of its practical application, and exploring its contributions and limitations to the society.

Invites you to take part in training on

“Fight against sex-and-human trafficking”

Civic Development and Partnership Foundation (CDPF) with the support of the U.S. Department of State and American Councils Office in Armenia offers an exclusive opportunity for all Armenian non-profit organizations to gain knowledge and skills on fight against sex-and-human trafficking.

About Training

The training covers the following topics:

  • Generic overview on sex-and-human trafficking;

§ Measures used in fighting against trafficking and abolishment of trafficking consequences;

§ International practice on fight against trafficking;

§ The role of NGOs in fight against trafficking;

§ How to write funding proposals aimed to fight against trafficking.

The training will include a theoretical part and will be conducted in an interactive manner.

The training will be delivered by Director of Special Projects and Senior Technical Advisor at Heartland Alliance International (HAI) Mr. Scott Portman (http://www.heartlandalliance.org/international/):

The language of the training is English, consecutive translation to Armenian is provided.

Location and Dates

The duration of the training is one day - September 24, from 10.30 to 16.00, The training will be held at Civic Development and Partnership Foundation (CDPF) office, at 11/5 Proshyan Street, Yerevan.

Application Procedure

The participation in the training is free; the selection of participants will be conducted on competitive basis. The training is targeted at both Yerevan-based organizations and regional non-profit organizations. The transportation fee for regional participants will be reimbursed (only public transportation fee will be covered). There is no reimbursement provided for overnight stay.

To apply for the participation in the training please fill in the application form (in Armenian) and send to training@cdpf.am by September 19, 2013. The applicants will be notified on the selection results on September 20, 2013.
