Corporate Social Responsibility and Business Ethics

General Description

Although not new in the developed part of the world, the concepts of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and ethical leadership are making first steps in gaining popularity in developing countries, with Armenia being not an exception. Nowadays many Armenians can hardly explain what constitutes to be a good corporate citizen, which is quite often confused with engaging in charitable activities. It is obvious that any for-profit entity is mainly concerned with earning and accumulating wealth, but the current worldwide trend is that this is not the only determinant of their existence and long-term success. More and more businesses realize that they do not operate in a vacuum; continuous interaction with different stakeholders is critical, with serious considerations for the environment, economically vulnerable populations, and the society as a whole.

In light of the above, it is therefore paramount to raise ethical competence and integrity standards of local managers for them to succeed in today's competitive and highly demanding world. With this in mind, the given training is aimed at familiarizing the audience with the theoretical framework for corporate social responsibility and business ethics, addressing the issues of its practical application, and exploring its contributions and limitations to the society.

Announcing the 1st Armenian Students For Liberty Conference and Pre-Conference Essay Contest Award

September 14-15, 2013, Green House Hotel, Vanadzor city, Armenia

Armenian Students For Liberty is proud to present the first edition of the ASFL Conference and Pre-Conference Essay Contest Award in Vanadzor city, Green House Hotel. Join ASFL from Saturday 14th till Sunday 15th of September for a weekend of learning and fun! 

The First Conference will provide a platform for key issues to be explored and debated. The attendees will get opportunity to learn about liberty from contemporary leaders in liberty, to discuss best practices for creating pro-liberty students groups on campus, to get more involved with ASFL and the larger pro-liberty organizations worldwide, to facilitate a culture of exchange and cooperation between Armenian libertarians and pro-liberty activists abroad. 

Around 100 young professionals, recent university graduates, and fourth-year undergraduate students will be selected from Armenian and Georgia. The attendees will get: free, high-quality and competitive education on ideas of liberty to students in Armenia, opportunity to showcase their leadership, leadership skills and organizational support to set up informal groupings and ensure their civic participation, develop strong relationships between SFL’s leaders, students and its partners, attend SFL’s leaders, students and its partners events, get necessary skills and knowledge on how to showcase the citizen activism, platform to speak about youth problems and to do suggestions, opportunity to be in intelligent anf free thinking athmosphere,
opportunity make friends, have interesting and lively student life and many more.


In addition, free CDs “Ideas for a Free Society”, books, two day accommodation, three time meals per day, social are included with your registration fee. Don’t miss out on your chance to be a part of the student movement for liberty in Armenia!

Registration Registration fee for participants is $50 Limited grants will be available to assist those who would otherwise be unable to attend.
